Tommy Wells - Principal Scientist/Owner

Tommy is an expert in pollutant source identification, transport, and fate in freshwater and brackish water environments. His experience as a consultant and local government representative, both nationally and internationally (New Zealand), is broad based. Tommy has over 17 year of experience in the stormwater and environmental monitoring fields primarily focusing on regulatory assistance for local government agencies. Tommy is a former Marine and is the owner of FMF Pandion. He is eager to help other agencies and companies meet their small business, emerging business, DBE/MBE, DVBE, SDB, and SDVOSB goals, while providing exemplary work in the environmental field.

Vanessa Wells - Chief Financial Officer

Vanessa has varied experience in Marketing, Information Systems, Staff and Business Management, Accounting, and Human Resources. Her double major bachelor's degree (University of Auckland) in International Business and Information Systems as well as years of experience working within different industries has given her insight into how many different businesses operate. She has worked in Life Sciences, Study Abroad, IT, and for iconic brands such as Red Bull and Hewlett-Packard. She is committed to helping FMF Pandion grow and thrive. Vanessa also does Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and loves spending time with her two kids.
John Bodenchak - Principal Engineer/Chief Engineering Officer

John is a University of California, Irvine graduate and a licensed civil engineer with ten years of professional experience in stormwater engineering. He has experience in grading and drainage design, hydraulic modeling, low impact development, flow monitoring, and capital project management for stormwater capture projects through concept, design, and construction. John is familiar with regulatory permitting and the practicalities of achieving compliance with stormwater regulations. John’s technical skills include proficiency in Microstation, ArcGIS, and the use of various hydraulic and hydrologic software packages. John is an Envision Sustainability Professional and is committed to sustainable design and using innovative technologies to find solutions and achieve better outcomes for projects. John is based in Los Angeles and his interests include soccer and traveling.

Dee Huddleston - Principal Industrial Hygienist

Dee Huddleston currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona and is the Principal Industrial Hygienist for FMF Pandion. From a young age Dee had an artistic desire to support and mentor people in the field of applied science. She was a pioneer student in the Lincoln Public Schools Science Focus Program (Lincoln, Nebraska), received an Associates in Applied Science in Occupational Safety and Health Technology in Phoenix, Arizona and holds a bachelor’s degree in Professional Art with a Minor in Biology from Doane University in Crete, Nebraska.
Dee embraces professional licenses as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (ABIH) and Certified Safety Professional (BCSP) and comes to FMF Pandion with 15 years of experience in anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control of occupational health and safety hazards in public, private and non-profit (healthcare) arenas. Dee passionately devotes her livelihood to safety and health risk identification, assessment and mitigation. She is certified by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) in Occupational Exposure Assessment and excels in safeguarding employees and the public from exposures to hazardous chemicals (ultra-fine particulates/fibers, gas, vapor, fume), biological agents (fungi, bacteria, virus), and technical physical hazards (ergonomics, noise, radiation and thermal stress). Dee is an active member of AIHA and the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) and volunteers for the Arizona Chapter of Safety for Non-profits (S4NP). Dee is a passionate, OSHA Authorized, health and safety trainer and desires engagement from adult learners. Dee’s professional arts talent as gained her first chair as a piano/keyboard player at her small Church located in Chandler, AZ where she loves spending time with her husband and two stepsons.

Nisaavinii Huerta Escamilla - Senior Scientist

Nisaavinii graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology from the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC), attending a year abroad at San Diego State University (SDSU). With her academic career focused on ecological diagnostic methods through both field monitoring and laboratory analysis, along with her past professional experience in aquatic toxicology and environmental monitoring equipment, Nisaavinii has dedicated her professional career with FMF Pandion to environmental and water resource science. Nisaavinii enjoys to be outdoors, travel, eat, cook, relax, and spend time with her husband + two fur babies.

Meredith Nagel - Senior Scientist

Meredith has extensive experience in the fields of population genetics and ecological physiology. Her unique background revolves around ecological research using genetic and physiological tools to investigate how organisms interact with their environment. Through her master’s degree (University of Auckland), starting a Doctorate, and five years as a research associate with the University of California Davis, Meredith is well versed in a broad array of scientific investigation. She excels in research logistics, experimental design, discrete data collection, and investigating trends and statistical analysis. She has experience working closely with an endangered species and is familiar with ESA permitting and collection. As a scientist, Meredith is committed to both macro and micro ecosystem health. Recently Meredith relocated to the Pacific Northwest with her family where she works remotely for FMF Pandion.
Sara McGaugh - Staff Engineer

Sara is a San Diego State University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in civil engineer with an emphasis in water resources. Her background extends to research on effects of changes in land use on the hydrologic cycle including post-wildfire hydrology and sediment processes. She also has a background in stormwater management planning and design. Sara has joined FMF Pandion with a passion for the environment and a commitment to applying scientific engineering principles to improve and protect nature's beneficial ecosystems and human life.
She is an avid runner, finishing two half marathons with more to come in the future.

David Perkinson - Staff Scientist

David is a University of West Florida graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies and an emphasis on Environmental Science. He has past laboratory and field monitoring experience in both the public and private sector, most notably working on different projects related to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. He brings several years of experience in water and air quality instrument calibration, maintenance, and application support. David has joined FMF Pandion with a passion for nature and stewardship that drives us to sustain the natural world and inspire conservation through science every day. In his spare time he enjoys surfing, hiking, bicycling, pickleball and traveling.
