Staff Scientist
FMF Pandion is seeking a junior environmental scientist. Job duties include environmental sampling of surface water, sediment, and aerial deposition; Installation of environmental monitoring stations; assisting in data analysis; technical report writing; and marketing.
The ideal candidate will understand hydrology and water quality, understand environmental policy and regulation, be familiar with use of basic hand tools and light construction methods to install monitoring stations (or ability to quickly learn them), can perform basic statistical analysis of scientific data, have a working knowledge of the MS Office suite and databases, and can perform basic programming of scientific instruments.
NEPA/CEQA knowledge is considered advantageous, but not required.
Hydrologic modeling experience is considered advantageous, but not required.
Our work is driven by demand from our clients. There will be highly productive weeks where well more than 40 hours will be worked, often several weeks in a row, followed by significantly slower weeks where comp time may be used.
